Paris – The Beginning
How do I even begin?!!?!? This trip was amazing and I am so fortunate to have traveled with my girlfriends Alyssa and Shaunae along with her sister Bre.
We started with heading down to Chicago O’Hare for our flight. It wasn’t even a long drive because we were all so excited that we just talked the entire time until we arrived. After searching and searching for a parking spot, we got into the airport and all checked in. Off we went for our transfer in Montreal, Canada and then to Paris!!!
Because we took the overnight flight and with the time zone change, we landed 7 hours ahead of Wisconsin time and arrived in Paris with just about an entire day to spare!! Which is pretty freakin cool if you ask me.
Our AirBNB was located in an amazing area right next to Le Lefon Cafe. It was small – as expected – but totally beautiful. As we waited for our unit to be ready, we hopped down for a cafe au lait and some treats. It didn’t take long for us to enjoy the splendor of what is Paris. Next stop after we got ourselves settled — The Louvre!!! One of my favorite places and not only because it houses the famous Mona Lisa and Winged Victory, but because the architecture of the building itself is stunning and the Pyramid is absolutely beautiful! I could spend the entire day photographing the details of the architecture of the entire city. And what trip to France isn’t complete without stopping at the famous Laduree for some french macaroons. You’ll see more photos because we literally hit up all the locations in Paris!!
We hoped over to have dinner at Restaurant Le Beaujolais nearby the Eiffel Tower. It started POURING rain when we were at dinner which worried us since Shaunae had a photo session scheduled that very evening. So we quickly purchased some umbrellas from a nearby stand and made our way. Luckily, the rain slowed enough that we were all able to hop over to Trocadero and not only see the twinkle of the Effiel Tower but let Shaunae and her guests enjoy and photograph the beauty while we had some beverages at Cafe Kleber. Wow — an Uber ride back to the AirBNB and we were DONE for the night! It was a great first day. Filled with traveling fun – broken French – and even some transit scandals, haha.
Take a peek at the adventure and the Instagram Story that I’ve saved and attached below.

We got so lucky to have a Metro Station just steps away from our AirBNB. Arts Et Metiers was a lovely station. There are a few train lines that run in it, but if you are lucky to get the one that has the copper tunnel…it’s SO cool!! Another really cool Metro stop is the Louvre Metro stop — it seriously looks like a museum when you step off the train. I’ll be sharing more of our trip in the coming blogposts! Stay tuned and keep up with all the travels here. Links are provided to all the places that we went, so feel free to follow that along and start planning your very own Parisian trip soon!
