Family Photography

I am so happy to have met this family. Okay….let’s get ready for a story here. So…way back when…in high school, I got suckered into this photography project. Well, it was more like a wanna be model project. LOL! No joke!

A bunch of us girls decided that it would be fun to make a photo calendar and sell them. We would all get in our prom dresses and take amazing images and then look awesome in our pretty gowns. Well…..we found out quickly that it didn’t turn out all so well and in the end, we just were girls with a silly idea. This is one of the ways I met Mai…who….wait for it….who is the sister of Tong, wait…who married Pachia…..who’s family this is!!! Wowza it took me a bit to get to this point, but there it is. My youth fantasy of being a calendar model turned into me photographing this family. Okay, feel free to continue laughing at me.

Anyhow, I loved Pachia’s family. Pachia is the eldest and put together the shoot. She even coordinated the colors and did everything to get everyone there on time.

Her parents were awesome. For a Dad that is so very serious all the time, things worked out pretty well. I think I even got him to smile a time for two? Eh? Okay, maybe I’m giving myself way too much credit.

Everyone looked beautiful and the location in Two Rivers couldn’t have been better. (okay, minus mosquitos next time would be nice).

ALERT ALERT ALERT

Okay, so no judgment here folks. At this particular point in the photo session, I had checked the time on my phone and snuck it back into my back pocket. Or so I thought. Mind you, I just got a new phone and only had it for less than 24 hours. So, out of the blue, a police car pulls up. Oh NO!!! I thought for sure, they got me….I’m totally not supposed to be photographing in this location, I’m so getting kicked out.

The officer approached us and stated “Is there a Colleen here”. GULP!!! My heart sank! Oh my…I was in trouble now…they even knew my name!! RELAX, come to find out; I accidentally pressed the emergency dial when I went to put my phone away. Oops!!! What a crazy moment. So…I tell ya what…interesting things happen when I’m around.  But it always makes for a good story.

So, after that short delay, and some laughs and giggles afterwards…we continued.

I loved that Pachia brought pictures with her and clothesline pins. It really made for something just a wee bit different. Thank you so much Pachia and your family for being SO awesome and putting up with my crazies. I’m glad that everyone had fun…hopefully Dad too!
