Jaycee of the Year 2015

A couple months ago, we celebrated yet another amazing year as part of the Jaycees. [The Appleton Junior Chamber of Commerce] The Jaycees is a young person’s organization dedicated to community outreach, individual development, and leadership. And I was so excited to have been nominated and to receive the 2015 Jaycee of the Year Award. Here I am with the 2015 Board along with the 2015 New Member of the Year as well!!

I joined the Jaycees 5 years ago to get more involved in my community and to meet young professionals that shared my same outlook on life. Little did I know that this organization would really change my life!

I have been so fortunate to meet so many amazing people, many of whom have won past and current Future 15 of the Appleton area. One of the things I absolutely love about the Jaycees, is the ability to take on huge projects. So often, it takes years and years working your corporate job, in order to really get yourself into a leadership position. And even then, it takes even more years to get to the point when you are in charge of a major project. 

In my years as a Jaycee thus far, I have been Vice President of Individual Development, Chapter President, Chairperson of the Board. 2015 was such a wonderful year. I can’t believe all the opportunities that I’ve had and all the opportunities that still lie ahead in this organization. This will not be my last blog about the Jaycees either;)
