Running on Fumes

There are days when you just don’t feel super awesome. But you just have to power through it. So….do exactly that. Power through it but THEN, you have to make sure you take that time after you’ve powered through to take care of yourself. Yes, I pull all-nighters sometimes. That’s no secret. But I also know that I’m so much more efficient from midnight to 3 am. That’s doesn’t always help when I need to be up at 4:45 to join some rockin’ ladies for our morning runs. haha. But when I pushed myself that hard, I also rest my body hard too. I think it’s easy for folks to think I’m super crazy and always working but I rest too! I really really do. My rest times might not look the same but it happens. I take the time to schedule a massage or to see my chiropractor. I make time to rest and heal my body in the mornings after pulling an all-nighter or whatnot. Taking a long shower and sipping on tea as I prepare my mind and body to start again. It’s so important to have that self-care. 

So if you are running around like crazy and giving it your all and never taking a break because that’s what you think you need to do to succeed…then you are doing it wrong. You can’t fuel your work if you are running on fumes. So take that time and find your balance.
