As a story teller and photographer, I love sharing and writing about all the different stories I'm honored to learn about and document. From clients to personal journeys in life, to advice and interesting things I've learned; read along and follow as I document about what's happening and all the things I'm up to.
The other week I was so excited to finally put together some awesome photos for a friend of mine. Emilie with Ooh Shiny Art Glass. This girl is so talented with her glass artwork and I’m excited to see what she does with her business and all the cool places she’ll take it. So…I shared this secret on Instagram a little while ago and now I’m ready to share on my blog. I guess I’m no different than anyone else out there. I’m afraid to admit when I can’t do something because I always always always try super hard to do everything within my power to accomplish any task. And when I was faced with photographing these necklaces for my friend, I couldn’t wait to grab them from her and start playing!! But to my surprise, I tried a bazillion different things with them and still…no satisfaction. It took quite a bit longer than I would have liked to admit but in the end, I finally got it in a way that I thought showcased her work perfectly.
Now, I’m not a super fashion person, but I do enjoy wearing fashionable things and putting together cute outfits. And thus, I thought to myself…what better way than to style these necklaces with more than just “things” or by themselves. It just seems to make sense to visualize it like part of a bigger outfit. Although, I did find that solo was a nice way too:)
After this huge realization (which was probably a no brainier to others), I spent an entire afternoon raiding my closet(s) and piecing together all the different items that would work perfectly. And I’m so glad that I didn’t give up because I’m thrilled with the results and I think…so is Emilie!
