Boudoir By Colleen – 10 Years

I’ve spent 10 years now helping empower women through boudoir photography. It’s been quite the journey and one that I’ve never regretted it for a moment.

When it was my 2 year anniversary, I had no clue what to get for my husband. This was back in 2009. (dating myself here) Boudoir photography was very sparse. Not only was it difficult to find a professional boudoir photographer, but no one liked to talk or share about it. After much searching, I finally found a photographer.

At the time, I had only been a handful of months into photography and had only really photographed my family for practice and what now. I planned on entering as a professional wedding photographer. I loved my experience so much that I knew that I had to inject this genre of photography into my business. And from there, my boudoir journey started.

Here I am going into my 11th year and I could not be more grateful for all the amazing ladies I’ve worked with. It’s been quite a journey and I’m so happy to see that there are so many more photographers adding this genre into their repertoire. I firmly believe that all ladies deserve to treat themselves to a session. Boudoir is a way to show oneself how beautiful they are…especially when they don’t always believe it.

My boudoir studio is one of my favorite places. I love adorning it with lush blankets and fresh plants. (although I’m not super good with keeping them alive) The light hits it perfectly and I’m lucky to have found such a perfect place for boudoir photography. May I never lose my love for this. (and I don’t think I will)
