Since this was the first Father’s Day for my Husband this year, I really wanted to create something special for him. As much as I love creating art with my photographs, I am terrible at being creative when I don’t get to use my camera. So, this was a challenge for me. And who better to help me create my vision for a gift, than Kandace at Hello Lemon Studio in De Pere.
I first visited this studio one year ago for the first Tuesday’s Together Meeting and I fell in love!! So many amazing things to create and make. So, when it came to it, I have to admit, I didn’t want to make the drive from Neenah to De Pere, but I decided that there really wasn’t a place like that here, so I wanted to make it up there because I knew it would be worth it and even more special. And it totally was too!!!
I had painted the canvas with an assortment of shades that Kandace helped me pour out and use. She was so helpful on tips on how to paint and what to do…it was wonderful to not have to go there thinking I was some master artist. When it came time for Stanley to get to work, he enjoyed it for all of two seconds and once he was restricted due to the paint on his hands, he was not a happy camper, lol. You can tell that one hand print is better than the other…but hey, it is how it happened and I can’t change that. And spoiler…but, I was SO excited when I got home, that when my husband asked what we did, I lied at first. And then after a couple hours, I couldn’t take it anymore and I spilled on what we did that day and how adorable his son was during the entire process and then handed him his father’s day gift. He loved it!! It was a couple days early, but still amazing!
