Oshkosh Proposal | Tom and Chelsee

When I got the message from Tom to document his proposal to Chelsee, I was over the moon!Photographing proposals is something insanely special. It’s a vulnerable time and special time for the asker. I can’t even imagine the butterflies that he must have been feeling.
That day, there was a Packer game. In addition, Tom’s sister was getting married the following week in Oshkosh. All this was the setup for the proposal. As Chelsee and her family were hanging out, they “decided” to go “photo scouting” for great picture locations at Menominee park in Oshkosh. This also so happens to be the very place Tom and Chelsee had their first date.But there was a big problem. Chelsee was wearing a Packer jersey and that probably wasn’t the best attire on the day you are about to get proposed to. So her Mom hatched up a plan. She “accidentally” spilled hot dog juice on Chelsee’s jersey. To avoid a soiled shirt, Chelsee changed into a more appropriate shirt for the special day.

They got into the car and headed to the park. As they were scouting locations for the wedding, they notice Tom, sitting on a bench. As they pull over, Chelsee steps out of the car and wonders in shock what Tom is down there. Meanwhile, I’m secretly waiting for the moment to bring out my camera and start snapping away. They chat for a bit and then Tom leads Chelsee over towards the shoreline. He drops down to a knee, and I think we all know what happens next.

It was an absolutely amazing moment that she got to share in private and still in a way, publicly as her family watched from afar. We took a handful of images afterwards and then they left with big happy smiles to celebrate!!
So happy for these two and thankful to be a part of such a special moment.
